Kanzeon Zendo

Kanzeon Zendo is located near the Little Flower Montessori School in the village of Perumalmalai, Kodaikanal. It is adjacent to a gurgling waterfall and surrounded on all three sides by beautiful mountains and dense forests.

Kanzeon Zendo was founded in 2022 by Ama Samy for his advanced students. But, it is open to all who are interested in learning and practicing Zen with him.  Note, however, that to participate in the koan training in dokusan, you must become a student of Ama Samy and join the Sangha.

There are fifteen single rooms with private bathrooms. Advance reservations are required, as there are often more requests than rooms available.

Perumalmalai village, in Tamil Nadu, South India, is situated at an altitude of 1700 m, 100 km northwest of Madurai. The nearest town is the hill station of Kodaikanal (12 km). The nearest international airports are Chennai and Kochi. The nearest domestic airport is Madurai and the nearest railway station is Kodai Road.
